Just another "Maaanic Monday" for the GTB team....as always your highlights, cue the drumroll!

100 Bands/ 6 Venues/ 3 Days.......Why it's Hard Working Class Heroes 2009!

Now in its 7th year HWCH has firmly established itself as the main platform for showcasing fantastic emerging Irish talent. Diector of HWCH Angel Dorgan filled us in on the all the happenings. Irish bands galore will be performing around the Temple bar area this weekend 16th-18th of October, from St Andrews Lane....to the Button Factory! Over 700 bands applied to enter the festival this year, a huge response and Angela and her team of international delegates had the lovely job of whittling that number down to the best 100! But it's not all about the tunes, a variety of events from photography exhibtions to industry panels and mentoring sessions will be taking place. So if you're a budding artist this could be the inital contact you need. Check out http://www.hwch.net/ for all the info! The schedule has just been announced and tickets are an excellent €18.50 individual night or €40.00 for the entire weekend! Also keep your eyes peeled apparently surprise acts will be popping into record shops and bookstores around the city centre during the daytime! GTB have their fingers crossed for a sighting of Dark Room Notes........:-)

Make-up Artist Natalie Kinsella

From Christina Aguilera to the beautiful Helena Christensen, Natalie has painted some of the biggest names in the business! A member of the Mac Pro team the lovely Natalie chatted to us about current trends and insider tips. A question we really wanted answered was the whole False eyelash business...is it a Yay or a Nay? Natalie says Heck YAY! She feels it's an excellent method to get that feline slant to the eye. Her top tip is to get the strip lashes and cut into sections, then apply the shorter sections to the outside of the eye...hey presto beautifully defined and most importantly natural-esque lashes!

Then of course we reached that complex topic of  Foundation...do we really have to fork out €30 for a bottle of the best brand hydro, luminosity blah blah....once again like a breath of fresh air Natalie tells us No! It's entirely up to the person if you can get a pharmacy foundation that works for you and suits your skin tone go for it! Its not always a case of the label is better. Now people I won't lie I am an avid fan of Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk foundation...a little bottle of genius! But is it my sensitive skin or a love of branding that has stolen my heart?......Well there's no time like a recession to find its pharmacy cousin!
